- Dissociable Roles for Cortical and Subcortical Structures in Memory Retrieval and Acquisition -- Mitchell et al. 28 (34): 8387 -- Journal of Neuroscience: Subcortical damage has a relatively greater effect on new learning, and cortical damage has a relatively greater effect on retention. Retrograde amnesia occurs as a result of subcortical damage only if it is widespread, leading to an extensive disruption of cortical functioning.

- Amygdala and Orbitofrontal Cortex Lesions Differentially Influence Choices during Object Reversal Learning -- Rudebeck and Murray 28 (33): 8338 -- Journal of Neuroscience: Monkeys with OFC lesions were unable to use correctly performed trials to optimally guide subsequent choices. Monkeys with amygdala lesions benefited more than controls from correctly performed trials that followed an error. That is interesting but a just lesion study.
- Neural basis of the cognitive map: Path integration does not require hippocampus or entorhinal cortex ? PNAS: The title is terribly misleading. They should say "Path integration as long as only 15 m with patients ..." There is no peer-review process for this paper. It is hard to say about how those patients changed their strategies in terms of neurally.

- Amygdala intercalated neurons are required for expression of fear extinction : Abstract : Nature: Selective lesions of ITC cells which expresse uORs reveals that those cells are require for fear extinction.
- Behavioural neuroscience: The circuit of fear : Article : Nature: A very nice review about Herry et al. and Likhtik et al., who showed local and global circuitry related to fear conditioning and extinction. The figure is really helpful to understand those studies.

- The role of the orbitofrontal cortex in the pursuit of happiness and more specific rewards : Abstract : Nature: Outcome-specif ic conditioned reinforcement is mediated by the OFC, whereas conditioned reinforcement mediated by general affective information is not. The OFC seems to be critical for instrumental responding when cue-evoked responding is driven by cue-evoked representation s of expected outcomes. I'm not sure whether their spin is good for general audience... I don't want to write a paper in this way.

- Functional Interaction between the Hippocampus and Nucleus Accumbens Shell Is Necessary for the Acquisition of Appetitive Spatial Context Conditioning -- Ito et al. 28 (27): 6950 -- Journal of Neuroscience: A well-written paper. NAc shell is also important for hippocampal dependent spatial learning.
