HAP-1 Defined
huntingtin-associated protein-1. A cytoplasmic protein (associated with the membrane cytoskeleton) that is expressed predominantly in the brain. HAP-1 is expressed in many neurons. Expanded CAG repeats in the huntingtin protein show increased binding to HAP-1.
